I remember several years back when I first encountered a Video Monster at the Tropicana, Las Vegas. It was a six or seven spot Blackjack Video Machine with the likeness of a dealer on a video screen dealing the game. The layout was similar to a regular BJ table, except for the large Video Screen and a money slot to capture your money.
I played several hands with curiosity and won a dollar or two. I thought to myself .. computers and high tech...can you trust it?
After attending the Las Vegas Gaming Expo in subsequent years, I learned this Video Table Game Process is expanding.
This year, the Shuffle Master Video Machine has graduated to dealing “Three Card Poker” and is presently at the Texas Station Casino, Las Vegas. They have two machines back to back with three dollar minimums to play. It’s located at the end of the table games pit.
To satisfy my curiosity, I tried it and I won. However, the pay tables DO NOT PAY THE SAME as the live game. There is no Ante Bonus Payout.
So if you want to peek at the future, where machines will rule .. stop in the Texas Station Casino and witness first hand what those video table game machines can do.
Texas Station hotel/casino is in the Northwest, on the corner of Rancho Drive and Lake Mead. But hurry .. because these machine are not getting much action and may not be around for too long.
However, we know High Tech is here. I think it’s only a matter of time before the soft sell changes, and the PR people try to make these Video Table Game Machines more acceptable.
Imagine the labor savings on a Video Crap Table if they could get public acceptance ?
