About a year ago, I decided I wanted to become one of the few players who could claim regular wins-and profits from “Advantage Play Craps.” What follows, here and in coming installments is the record of my entry into that world. It is a story of study, hard work rigorous practice and what some might call a “magnificent obsession” but one that has been very, very rewarding.
MONEY: They got it – I want it!
Walk up to any craps table and just look at what the Boxman is guarding – MONEY and lots of it.
Craps offer the best odds in the entire casino, but the odds still favor the casino. So what we, the gamblers, need is a way to even the odds out a little better, maybe even move the odds a little into our favor. Is that possible? Maybe, and maybe more so for some of us than others.
What does it take to join the ranks that may have a slight advantage? Are you willing and able to practice until you are bored to tears? If not, attempting to influence the dice may not be for you. If you are – well, welcome to the club.
The bottom line to a Dice Influencer (DI) is the bottom line. We, who attempt to influence the dice, have spent a few bucks, and hundreds of hours of time. Why do we do this? For just a slight advantage, that’s all. A slight advantage is not an easy thing to achieve, and there is still more to it. You must be smart enough to understand your advantage, and utilize this advantage
What does have an advantage at the table mean? I can’t answer that one for you.
You can ask anyone who has been at this for any amount of time and you will get a different answer and they will all be right – for themselves. I’m not sure most will even agree with me on that.
Why did I take up attempting to influence the dice? MONEY! Lets face it the casino has it and we want it. How are you going to get it? Start by checking out the available information on the internet, and the private message boards (forums).
I am a member of two message boards, the one atached to this site, and Heavy’s Power Axis Craps board. I sign on to these two boards at least 10 times a day. I am in contact with other DI’ers at least once a day. Am I obsessed? Probably. But I am striving to be the best DI’er I can.
I can’t help you with my knowledge of the game of craps like the other writers here at the Dice Institute. You see I am a new comer – I am a Di’er wanna be. My writing will be about my first year attempting to influence the dice, and maybe a couple of off the wall ideas of mine.
The best advice I can give you is - join message boards, this site's and Heavy’s. There are threads that you will be lost in for hours. There is jargon that will simply frustrate you to death. Read and listen to what the other writers are telling you. Learn from their experience – there is no need to re-invent the wheel.
But is the journey worth it? Sorry I can’t help you there either. It was worth it to and for me. I have gained financial and personally.
The rest of this article is for the “ole DI’ers” that are already board members.
WOW!! Look at me - a writer! Okay you can stop laughing now. The best I can figure is that they get a discount if they have so many writers and no one else would do it.
Look at the list of writers they have for the Dice Institute. Yep I’m still the one without a clue. Everyone listed as a writer (with one exception – me) is well known and well established in the world of Dice Influencing.
I was approached with this idea a couple of days ago, and it just so happens that I was thinking about putting on paper my first year’s journey. On the 26th of this month I will have been a member of Heavy’s board for one year. My journey began that day and it continues today and since I know there are many miles ahead, it’s time I take a look back.
And that is what my first few articles will be about my first year because it wasn’t that long ago that I was an outsider - looking in.
Editor's Note: Dave is being modest. His success in his first year has been dramatic and well documented in the APC "community." His practice regimen is already legendary, and his results have been outstanding.
