Are you ready for the next step in dice setting?
If you are ready for the next step, then lets move forward. If you have done all the things suggested in Part 1 and feel like you want to try your new found skill in the real world in a casino, then give it a try. There will be a big difference playing in a casino than practicing at home.
You will be faced with new situations and distractions. Finding a table to your liking won’t be easy. Finding a table with your position open is sometimes very difficult. Now days with more and more dice setters out there, the preferred positions are often occupied. You must be patient and wait for a position you will feel comfortable shooting from.
Once you take up your position at the table, don’t be in a hurry to buy in. Make sure you know the table minimum. Make note of the amount of chips in everybody’s rack. There might be a reason for your position opening up. The guy next to you might be an obnoxious, cigar smoking jerk that has been upsetting the table. Your position may have come open because the shooter seven-out and left. Now you will have to wait for the dice to go all around the table before you get a chance to shoot.
It’s common courtesy to hold back buying in until the person with the dice finishes his roll. While you’re waiting, look the crew over and see if they are responsive to their duties. Is one of the Suits hanging around the table and is he friendly. Did he wish you good luck by your name when he handed back your players card?
All this detail may seem trivial to you, but if you want to have a good experience at the table you must put yourself in a position to participate comfortably.
Another item necessary for comfort is a sufficient bankroll so you can absorb some losses. Don’t play with scared money that is needed for day to day necessities. If you do, you will never be comfortable at the table. When risking money, only you can determent what is a comfortable bank roll.
When it becomes your turn to throw the dice and the stick person passes the dice to you to pick out a pair, select two that have numbers that you want to set on top. Then all you have to do to set them is twist them around to your set. Be quick about it, but methodical and go into your pickup and toss.
When you make your come-out bet, make a $1 pass line bet for the crew. Treat it as an insurance policy against future heat.
All throughout this website you will find detailed instructions on all the items discussed here. Good luck and watch for Part 3.
