Mission from God January 8, 2010

That’s right! Laser910 had the Lincoln-mobile pointed towards Harrah’s Horseshoe. It was 8 degrees out. We had our long-johns on and were wearing white socks. Full tank of gas! It was pitch black out and we were wearing sun glasses. We were on a mission from God. We were to determine how many times the Red Devil would jump and make us disbelievers in the game of craps.
Parking was impossible but we were on a mission from God and a young lady was departing and donated her parking spot to us just five cars from the elevator to the casino.
We arrived at the tables at 6:15 pm and Target was already at a $10 table checking the terrain out for land mines. There was only one other old timer playing and he held up the game so we could all buy in. Radar arrived just in time to buy in at SL3. Target was at SL1 and Laser910 occupied SL2. I was at SR1 next to my new found friend at SR2. He had the dice and I would get them next. The old timer went seven-out on his forth toss when the Red Devil showed up.
It was my turn and all I could muster up was one point and a handful of numbers. Target was next and was showing good form for just coming off the disable list. Yes, the crew was back in the building and on a mission from God. The Red Devil had other Ideas as Laser910 found out the hard way.
Our rookie Radar was our anchor man and he went on a tear banging out three points and some six and eights. The table was full now with the devil’s disciples and they were taking a toll on our bankroll.
The Red Devil had us on the run so Laser910 and Radar headed for the poker machines. Target and I weren’t ready to give in to the Devil just yet. They had just changed the table to $15 and we lost some of the disciples and were receiving the dice quicker. Target and I were happy with our toss but we were just keeping our heads above water. We agreed to depart after one more turn. I finally made a couple of points and gobs of field numbers. I even put up the iron cross to keep the Devil away. While I was deep in the field harvest, the devil caught up with me.
Target took over and was a man with a mission. After all the field numbers, the devil caught up with me. I hesitated to do any harvesting when Target took over. Target then proceeded to throw nine field numbers in a row. He held the dice for almost a half hour.
It was easily the best run of the night.
We headed for the buffet only to find it pack. We tried the 14 foot table by the buffet but the Devil would have no part of us. We opted for the coffee shop instead and discussed our mission.
It was good to get the crew back together and hopefully we can do it at Spring Fling. As for the Horseshoe tables, the dice are still coming off the back wall like they were shot out of a slingshot. The tables are still bouncy as ever with a lot going off the table. One interesting occurrence was every one’s come out throw was a seven. I guess we confused the Red Devil for awhile. The Suits never bothered anybody the whole time we were there. Then table crew was excellent. The stick girl remarked that we were fun to be with. Any time Target is at the table be ready to enjoy the evening.
