Saturday Night at tha Boat - Bottom Feeding II
For a Saturday night, parking was good with a view over looking the boat yard. We arrived at the U-Boat tables around 6:45 p.m. and found ClubSodaKenny fishing at a $10 table. FiftyRoller and I threw our lines in at SL2 and SR2. We threw some bait out on the place-eight and while we were waiting for a nibble we noticed they had eight of the nine tables working. They were all $10 tables except one $15 table.
FiftyRoller was casting the dice when Laser910 checked in and bought some bait. Within fifteen minutes we had managed to get our preferred fishing positions on this $10 boat. FiftyRoller was tossing numbers when Laser says, “Look, Charlie’s bottom fishing already”. FiftyRoller had cast about 25 times when the red shark got his bait.
While we were waiting for the dice to come around, the random rollers were stealing our bait as fast as we put it out there. I cast three hard sixes and Laser only caught one of them. The boat was beginning to rock and take on vast number of red sharks.
Laser and FiftyRoller decided to take a break and see if they could get some fish out of the slots. After they jumped ship ClubSodaKenny and I fished for another half hour and concluded the fish had stopped biting. We cashed out what was left of our buy-in and found a TV to watch the last two innings of the White Sox game. They won with our help.
We found FiftyRoller camped at a slot machine and Laser still missing. ClubSodaKenny decided to hang up his fish gear and head home. FiftyRoller and I were thinking along those same lines. We were walking by the $15 table and I slowed down to observe the two players at the table. FiftyRoller says go ahead and jump in and I will watch your back.
Right after I bought in, the guy on my right seven-out and I had the dice. I got ten for the point and had $30 on the six and eight. I made the point and tossed a six and eight and then made point nine. Then junk numbers came in. I played the field with out even covering the five.
The other two players were on board now and the three of us played for about an hour of up and down play. If I had been at a $10 table I would have lost my shirt. As it was, when I won, I won big. It made up for my losses during that hour. I proved one thing; Bottom feeding can pay off, even if I only showed a $23 profit for a one hour education.
Taking the elevator to the parking garage is another story.
